A Los Angeles native, McMillen is best known for his constructions and installation works. Since the 1970s, he has been creating installations with architectural references that deal with themes of time, change and illusion. Rooted in the assemblage tradition of utilizing discarded objects, his work can be found in the permanent collections of LACMA, the Guggenheim Museum, the Oakland Museum of Art and other institutions both here and abroad. |
