Albert Beach

Beach has enjoyed a long career as painter and printmaker, creating works that explore, among other themes, the uncommon connections between major cosmopolitan urban spaces and small quaint villages.  He lives and works both in Los Angeles and a small town in Tuscany, and this dichotomy bears out in his work. He experiments with trans-cultural juxtapositions, the interplay of past and present, to create ambiguous geographical realms for the viewer to explore.  His images can vacillate between abstraction and representation; soft, monochromatic tones to saturated colors.
