Hubert Schmalix
Born in Graz, Austria, Schmalix studied at the Academy of Visual Arts in Vienna before moving to Los Angeles in the late 80's. His "townscapes" consist of colored and crisply delineated color fields that can be read as panoramic views of houses seen from above, much like an uninhibited world of painterly geometry.
